TheMost Reverend Bishop Frank Caggiano, Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, was moved by their dedication to supporting vulnerable mothers and children. Michael O’Rourke, founder of Malta House, and Carey Dougherty, executive director, shared their personal stories and experiences, highlighting the history, services, and pivotal time in the organization’s history.

During their conversation,Bishop Caggiano was deeply moved by Michael’s story of the history of MaltaHouse and his calling to build a home for pregnant and parenting mothers. He was also touched by Carey's unwavering dedication and passion for supporting vulnerable mothers and their babies. They shared some personal stories of women who transformed their lives through the support of the Malta House community.

Michael and Carey spoke of the exciting time in Malta House’s history: 2023 marks the 25^th anniversary and will be joyfully celebrated at the Annual Spring Gala on May 12^that Woodway Country Club. Honoree of the gala will be long-time Board Chair, Kim Petrone, who has worked tirelessly to shepherd the organization into their new home on West Rocks Road in Norwalk and whose dedication is truly unmatched.

Carey also shared her plans to step down at the end of March and relocate to California, and the exciting opportunity for new leadership of this exemplary organization.
