For Zoey, the opportunity to go to go to Malta House was life-changing.
“I originally found myself homeless in February,” Zoey, as she identified herself to the Zoning Commission on Wednesday, said.
She was forced to give her 3-year-old son over to her mother. After two days of living in her car, Zoey was accepted into the Malta House facility on Prowitt Street, and since then she’s been able to get an internship, get a job, start saving money, get her son back and apply to graduate school.
“My son has been able to start a Head Start program,” she said. “The staff there is incredible.”
