As we adjust to life since the onset of COVID-19, we are mindful of the thousands who have suffered and died from a virus with no cure and no preventative vaccine. I speak not only for myself but on behalf of my entire staff and board of directors, to share with you how very grateful we are for the sacrifices that our communities have made. We keep these heroes in our daily prayers.
We hope and pray that you and your loved ones have remained healthy and safe. Our very own Malta House community has continued to support and care for our young mothers and babies. We are one of only two non-profit organizations providing shelter in Connecticut that remained open during the pandemic. In order to ensure the continued health and safety of our moms, babies and staff, our daily protocols include wearing masks, temperature checks, hand sanitizing upon entry and throughout the day, as well as social distancing.
We would be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to thank all of you. We have been supported generously throughout this time with financial donations, COVID19 grant funding, in kind support, meals and treats. The support that warms my heart the most is your unending kindness. It is truly because of you that our home remains a place of safety and love.
Malta House continues to need your support. Our Spring Gala will be held on September 10th. There is still time to buy tickets, sponsorships, advertisements or Gifts of Love: Malta House Gala 2020. If you prefer to donate an item, please refer to our Malta House Wish List for our ongoing needs of essential household items, or if you’d like to make a financial contribution, you may donate now. Thank you so much.
We ask that you continue to pray for the mothers and babies of Malta House. Your prayers and love mean more than we can ever say. Let us all pray for peace, as we remember that we do, indeed, belong to each other.
With love & gratitude,
Carey Dougherty
